Robin Ashford writes plain-English study guides built directly on DVSA's published standards, marking forms and examiner guidance.
Robin is not a driving instructor, an instructor trainer or a former examiner, and the guides never claim otherwise. Their value is different: they read the official documents closely, organise them around the way you're actually tested, and show you where each claim comes from.
How the book is checked
Every factual claim in the book is checked against official sources and recorded in a verification log before publication. Where the book offers its own techniques, such as a lesson structure or a debrief routine, it labels them clearly as not being DVSA rules.
Rules, fees and guidance change. The book and this site were last checked against GOV.UK in October 2026. If you spot something that's out of date, please get in touch so it can be corrected.

This is an independent guide. It is not produced, approved or endorsed by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. It's designed to be used alongside training from a registered instructor trainer, not instead of it.
