The 17 competencies / Teaching and learning strategies / Competency 13
ADI Part 3: accurate technical information
The form asks: Was technical information accurate, appropriate and comprehensive?
Information should be accurate, relevant and timely. This competency hides an automatic fail: technically wrong information that could lead to a safety-critical situation fails the test.
What earns marks
- Clear, accurate explanations and demonstrations
- Checking understanding, and repeating if needed
- Explaining another way when the first doesn't land
What loses marks
- Wrong information or demonstrations
- Unclear input, or input too early or too late
- Not checking understanding
The common mistake: Vague feedback such as "a bit close". How close, and does it matter? And make sure your Highway Code knowledge includes the January 2022 changes.
