What is the ADI Part 3 pass rate?
Part 3 is widely seen as the hardest of the three qualifying tests. DVSA publishes the official pass rate every quarter.
The figures
One instructor's analysis of DVSA data put Part 3 at about 35%, against roughly 45% for Part 1 and 60% for Part 2. Rates move over time, so check DVSA's latest table (DRT521C) for the current figure.
Why so many fail
The most common reason is preparing a polished lesson and delivering it at the pupil instead of with them. The form rewards listening, adapting and handing responsibility to the learner.
The best way to beat the average: score a real lesson on all 17 competencies and work on anything below a 2.
